El Centro Integrado de Formación Profesional (CIFP) Kardala LHII, located in Mutriku, Gipuzkoa, is a public institution dedicated to specialized training in aquaculture. To mark its 20th anniversary, the center decided to commemorate this special occasion with an illustration for the façade, reflecting its history and commitment to education and the maritime environment.
The idea
Create a poster or mural for the exterior facade of the center for the center’s 20th anniversary.
The result
An illustration was designed incorporating the text “Kardala 20 urte” and depicting some of the species studied or bred at the center, such as fish, cephalopods, crustaceans, microalgae, and macroalgae.
Three initial proposals were developed that met these requirements. After selecting the final option, the species that would appear in the illustration were defined. The color palette was carefully chosen to stand out against the orange wall of the building, creating an attractive visual contrast.
The poster, measuring 2.5 x 2 meters, was designed to fit perfectly into the spaces between the pillars. Aluminum plates were chosen for printing, a material that offers high quality and resistance, ideal for ensuring the poster’s durability outdoors.
