The Kirinia climene is a butterfly belonging to the Nymphalidae family. This species mainly inhabits southern Europe and some regions of minor Asia.
The idea
Create a detailed illustration of the Kirinia climene male using watercolor techniques, highlighting its most characteristic features.
The result
The illustration shows the dorsal (upper) and ventral (lower) views of the male butterfly Kirinia climene, with anatomical details and realistic colors that enable its main characteristics to be identified.
This illustration was created as part of a class project for the Master’s Degree in Scientific Illustration at the University of the Basque Country (UPV-EHU) with Carles Puche.
