Vespa velutina

Black and white illustration of the Asian hornet (Vespa velutina), created with Indian ink using the pointillism technique. This technique consists of applying small dots of ink to build up the image, achieving great depth and detail through the accumulation of dots. This species is native to Southeast Asia and is considered an invasive species in the Basque Country. It is distinguished by its dark thorax, black abdomen with a thin yellow band, and legs with yellow tips.
